The 61st International Toy Fair in Nurnberg was held from Feb.4to 9 this year. We were there for four days from Feb.4 to 7, and would like to report on the exciting products, projects and people we encountered there.

The entrance of the huge Messe building was under constructiion. Although we were concerned about the heavy snow that was reported to have attacked all over Europe earlier this year, we were fortunate to have comparatively moderate climate during the toy fair.
It was reported that there were
about 76600 visitors to the Fair this year, which was increased by 1000 as compared to last year.

Hall俁丂丂A-24 丂PLANTOYS
PlanToys has set up the booth at the same location as last year, at Hall 3. The booth lay-out was designed to have open entrance to two directions that welcomed all the visitors by providing open and ample space to look around the display in the booth.

PlanToys that was establied on Green Concept 25 years ago in Thailand has been working on the Green Concept throughout product development, material, product design and also in promotion. Their paper bags are always looked forward to by many PlanToys fans, and this year the design was even more green in the way they designed the bags. The old catalog were utilized as the materials. Mr.Vitool Viraponsavan has designed the way to reuse the catalog pages in the way that they would look nicer in the arrangement of the pages. The design was inspired by Japanese recycle movement that suggested to make paper bags out of used news paper. We hear that all people making and arranging the paper bags really enjoyed the process to mae their only-one and unique design on each bag that were made.
丂Among the new lines of PlanToys this year could be found the attractive baby line. There were colorful baby car, amazing rollers for babys that are made of safe and organic rubber wood.

It is always a pleasure of meeting new products, designers and managers of products that we are interested in at the International Toy Fair. It happens sometimes that we get to meet the person after a long-time email corresopondence. This year, we had a chance to meet Philippe, a game designer from France, there after emailing to each other many times for two years.

The excitement of going to a Toy Fair is thus the new encounter with people and products, and also meeting old friends in the industry. We are very fortunate to have such an occassion, and hope to visit the Fair again next year. The Nurnberg Toy Fair is going to take place from Feb. 3 to 8 in 2011.
